Voice Notes for Freshdesk — Privacy Policy

Purpose

Voice Notes for Freshdesk plays WhatsApp .ogg/.opus voice-note attachments inline on Freshdesk ticket pages. It adds a play button next to audio attachments and shows a compact player with play/pause, seek, playback speed, loop and download controls.

Information handled

The extension reads attachment links, file names and the surrounding page structure on Freshdesk ticket pages where it has permission to run, solely to identify audio attachments and place the play button in the ticket view.

When you play a note, the extension loads the audio file from the same Freshdesk domain using your existing login session and plays it in the page. The audio, attachment contents and ticket content are not sent to the developer or to any third party.

It stores the following in Chrome's local extension storage on your device:
- Your playback speed preference (0.75x–2x).
- Whether looping is on or off.

No other information is stored. The extension does not record a history of pages visited, log your clicks or keystrokes, or intentionally collect account credentials, ticket contents, messages, payment details or health information.

Storage, transmission and sharing

The extension uses local storage, not Chrome sync storage. It does not transmit the stored information to the developer or an external server. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking service. The developer does not sell, share or use this information for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Playing, saving or opening an attachment uses the normal Freshdesk connection to your own helpdesk; Freshdesk operates under its own privacy policy. Chrome Web Store and browser services also operate under their respective policies.

Permissions

Storage saves your playback preferences. Site access lets the bundled player script run on Freshdesk helpdesk domains (https://*.freshdesk.com/*) so it can find audio attachments in the ticket view and modify that page to show the player. The extension requests no other hosts and no optional broad host access.

All executable code is bundled with the extension. No remotely hosted code is downloaded or executed.

Your controls and retention

You can change playback speed or looping at any time in the player. Your preferences remain in local storage until the extension's storage is cleared or the extension is uninstalled.

You can disable the extension or revoke its site access through Chrome's extension settings. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage from that browser profile.

Limited use

Voice Notes for Freshdesk's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide its stated inline-playback purpose.
